How we score
What your neighbors say matters
Scores come from Google ratings and review counts, weighted by the number of reviews. That way, a 5.0 from 4 reviews doesn't outrank a 4.8 from 200. When a weighted score isn't ready, we show the Google rating on its own, or “New to the list.”
A Top Pick is earned
Top Picks are among the highest-rated in their category: the top 20% of pros with 4.7+ Google stars and 50+ reviews. The badge is earned automatically, never bought. If the score slips, the badge comes off automatically, too.
We keep checking
Ratings are refreshed regularly on a rolling basis. Each listing shows when it was last checked. Vendors that fall below a 3.5 Google rating with enough reviews are taken off the list.
